Whistler Olympic Plaza



Visit Whistler Olympic Plaza on select evenings throughout winter for free kid-friendly winter activities and entertainment brought to you by the Resort Municipality of Whistler and the Province of BC. There are a variety of entertainment and family activities that change from week to week including snowman building competitions, tobogganing, storytelling, roving characters, music, mini hockey, snacks and hot beverages! 

You will find all of this and more in the heart of the Whistler Village



The Trevi Fountain (Italian: Fontana di Trevi) is a fountain in the Trevi district in Rome, Italy, designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed by Giuseppe Pannini.Standing 26.3 metres (86 ft) high and 49.15 metres (161.3 ft) wide,[1] it is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world.



Winter Activities



Fire & Ice Show



Watch Whistler’s top skiers and riders jump through fire every Sunday night at Skiers Plaza, with fireworks to end the show.

When: Sundays, 6:30 PM practice; 7 PM show (Free)


Olympic Plaza Ice Skating & Snow Zone



Experience Whistler’s “Snow Zone” daily with tobogganing, ice skating, fire pits, and nearby coffee shops.

When: Daily (small fee for rentals and admission)


Family Après



Enjoy Canadian winter fun at Whistler Olympic Plaza with your kids!


Where: Whistler Olympic Plaza, right in the heart of Whistler Village.


When: Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 PM to 6 PM during the winter season. It’s a seasonal event, so the exact dates may vary each year, but it generally starts in December and continues until March.


This central location makes it easily accessible for families, with the plaza set up to host various winter activities and entertainment on select evenings throughout the season.



Playgrounds



Kids love the large playgrounds at Whistler Olympic Plaza, Creekside Village, Alpha Lake, Meadow Park, and Bayly Park.

Escape Whistler



Try Whistler’s original escape room for a 45-minute adventure of puzzles and riddles. Located in Mountain Square.

Make your Whistler holiday with tobogganing, ice skating, keeping warm by a fire-pit or enjoying one of the local coffee shops!

When: Daily Admission and rentals are a small fee.The Holiday ExperienceDuring the holiday season the Whistler Conference Centre turns into an indoor playground. At this family friendly winter activity, your children will enjoy games, crafts, bouncy castles and more! Additionally, there is a café inside for parents to relax while the children play.

Fire & Ice Show

Every Sunday from December through March head to skiers plaza at the base of Whistler Mountain for a free, all ages night of entertainment. Whistler’s best skiers and riders perform spin’s and twist’s right in front of you through a burning hoop. Make sure to dress warm and grab a hot drink while you enjoy the atmosphere. This family friendly winter activity is set to impress.

Make sure that you stay until the end for the celebratory fireworks!

When: Sunday – Practice from 6:30pm, live show at 7pmFree!


Playgrounds

There are always happy children at the large playground in Whistler Olympic Plaza. Parents can enjoy a coffee and a chat while the kids enjoy being active and outside. There are additional playgrounds by the Creekside Village, at Alpha Lake, Meadow Park and Bayly Park near Cheakamus for all of your family fun!


Audian Art Museum

Experience the art of British Columbia, from the traditional works of the province’s First Nations through to it’s contemporary masters, anchored by the important collection donated by Michael Audain and his wife Yoshiko Karasawa. The collection includes centuries-old Northwest Coast works, some created before European contact, to the internationally renowned Vancouver photo-conceptualists of our era.


Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre

The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre was created to celebrate the joint history of the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations. It is a cultural and historical experience for all. The art & exhibits on display showcase both nations culures, histories, and creativity.


Meadow Park Sports Centre

Located North of Whistler Village in Alpine Meadows, this sports centre offers something for everyone. There is a kids pool with a lazy river, a large lap pool with a rope swing, hot tub, sauna and steam room. There is also squash courts, an ice rink and a large gym with lots of classes to choose from. If you are looking for a free, fun and authentic Canadian experience, contact Meadow Park Sports Centre to find out when the recreational hockey games are being played. Come by and cheer on a local hockey team!


Escape Whistler

Welcome to Whistler’s original escape room facility! A live escape room is a real-life gaming experience where groups are placed inside a themed room. Your group will be presented with puzzles, riddles, and clues which you must work together to solve within 45 minutes in order to “Escape” from the situation you are in. How far you make it will depend on your group’s ability to solve the challenges laid out for you. But don’t waste time…you only have 45 minutes to Escape! Conveniently located in Mountain Square in the main village! NOTE: Information provided above is subject to change.

Lost Lake – Closest to the Village, featuring a sandy beach, concessions, docks, and off-leash dog area.


Alta Lake – Kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals available.


Alpha Lake – Docks, volleyball area, and large off-leash dog park.


Nita Lake – Ideal for fishing with a stocked rainbow trout lake and pebble beach.


Green Lake – Cold and beautiful, great for watersports, with a floatplane dock and boat launch.
